So I paid the 25, and posted 50 Marble for 50 Smart Materials. But I thought it was "fair", and the trade partner thought it was "fair."Įxample 3) Now here is a real game trade: I worked a deal with someone, 25FP for 50 Tomorrow goods. Or "That wasn't fair because the house needs a new roof and septic". But someone else may say "Hey, that was not "fair" because now he has access to waterfrontage". So I "fairly" trade my money for his house. We can negotiate on the price, and maybe we do. And if I agree to the trade, then I must think it is "fair" as well.Įxample 2) Or if I am buying a new house: the owner may value it at $100k, where I only want to pay $80k. But if the Porsche owner valued my van more then his car, to him it is a "fair" trade. My advice would be this:ġ) If your Guild only accpets "fair trades" using the calculator, and you want to make a 'profit", join a different Guild.Ģ) If you would rather stay in that Guild, then change the way you trade.Įxample 1) Look, if I traded my minivan for a Porsche, people would call me all kinds of names, and say that the Porsche owner got ripped off. The FoE Trade helper is a good advisor, but not the be all end all to trading. To myself (who does alot of trading to supply my Guild with resources), a trade is a trade is a trade. If you're talking about the "fair trade calculators" (because I don't see anything automatically plugging in amounts on the Create Trade screen), then just don't use them. When I am thinking about taking a trade, I hover my cursor over the goods to check which ages they're from, then I check the ratio to see if it's acceptable to me, then I either take the trade or don't. Then you click "Create Offer", confirm, and you're set. Then you pick the good you're offering and the amount. You pick the good you need, and the amount. There is no game mechanism that is interfering with me doing this. When I take a trade, I always look at the amounts/eras of both goods before I take it. When I post a trade, I always put in the exact amount of both goods. Click to expand.Solution to what, exactly? You can't figure out how not to post lopsided trades? You keep grabbing trades that, in retrospect, you wish you hadn't?
